Slate Energy owns and operates several assets within the powder river basin. The powder river is in the PADD 4 region and is highly active and quickly growing with approximately 5,000 new drilling permits being approved as of January 2021.
Slate’s refinery sits on approximately 32 acres of permitted land located just outside of Douglas Wyoming in the powder river basin. Historically the refinery has been operated successfully to refine traditional crude feed stocks from the local area into ULSD, LSD, NAPTHA, VGO Etc... Slate operated the refinery most recently as a terminal where products are being brought in, offloaded, and stored, then on loaded and resold to local players in the market.
Slate has commenced a project to convert the existing traditional crude refining operation to a Renewable Fuels production facility. We have partnered with industry leading engineers to ensure that the new operation will be a state-of-the-art facility capable of producing up to 9K BBL per day of RD product.
Slate also owns and maintains approximately 240 Miles of main line and gathering systems throughout the area. The gathering lines are in close proximity to numerous drilling operations and are accompanied by legacy right of ways for most of the assets. We are currently working on partnerships to utilize the mainline and gathering systems throughout the area in the most effective ways possible.
